Dharmasthala is a popular pilgrim centre situated on the banks of river Nethravathi in Belthangady Taluk of Dakshina Kannada District.sHere deity is Lord Shiva worshipped as Manjunatha swamy.  The 39 ft statue of Bahubali was erected in 1980 on a hill called Rathnagiri in Dharmasthala. The Manjusha Vasthu sangrahaalaya (museum) nearby houses a large range of objects including ancient scripts on palm leaves, silver jewellery and religious statuary. The annual festival of Laksha Deepotsava is held here in Karthika masa (November/December) every year.
